Students' Rules and RegulationsUniveristy Students' Rules and Regulations are principally the guidelines for the good of the the students in particular. As the title suggests, they are meant to guide the student and regulate his/her standard norms within the university community.

Gulu University Strategic Plan 2005/6-2008/9This is an excerpt from the foreword in the current edition of the university's Strategic Plan:

"The conflict in Northern Uganda began in 1986, after the National Resistance Army (NRA) took control of the region. This was followed by formation of different insurgent groups that waged war against the government. …

"Despite the war, on the 28th April 1994, Government of Uganda appointed a Task Force of ten people to undertake specific task that would lead to preparatory work for setting the new university in northern Uganda …"

Fees Structure - CitizenThe University boasts of being cheap and affordable compared to other public and private institutions in Uganda. The tuition fees and other charges vary per course. Since privately sponsored students constitute the vast majority of our registered students, it's a good idea that we present to you the University's fees structures at this point. Please note, however, that the University's fees structure is subject to change from time to time without notice. The currend revision has been adopted for the 2009/2010 academic year.

Soon, we will make available the structure in US$ for our foreign students. Please keep checking on this page for the fees structure for foreign students.

Abstract

We recognized the farming practice of the communities around Keyo hills in Kilak, which is a complex and fragile ecosystem, as being purely dependent on annual food and cash crops production system and rain fed agriculture in nature. There are noticeable declines in food and cash crops production in the area. There are regular reported cases of mild to severe famine in the northern and eastern parts of Uganda. The community has resorted to overexploitation of natural resources such as charcoal burning and stone quarrying for daily subsistence.
